POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Director at Renew Recovery Center plays a key leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinical department. This includes supervising staff, developing and evaluating therapeutic programs, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care. The role involves direct oversight of clinical services such as psychosocial assessments, individual and group therapy, family sessions, and comprehensive treatment planning. The Clinical Director is also responsible for ensuring all clinical activities align with regulatory standards, agency policies, and the needs of the clients we serve.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution
- At least four years of experience working with individuals within a behavioral health setting
- Strong foundation in clinical assessment, evidence-based interventions, and care coordination
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, state requirements, and behavioral health best practices
- Active clinical license in good standing (preferred or as required by state regulations)
- Certification in CPR and crisis de-escalation (training available upon hire)
- First Aid certification may be required, depending on state or facility policy
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based clinical programming and group schedules
- Train and support direct care staff in treatment planning and service delivery, ensuring fidelity to individualized care plans
- Monitor clinical service delivery to ensure compliance with standards of care, state and federal regulations, and internal policies
- Assess the effectiveness of clinical programs, introducing improvements based on client outcomes and clinical research
- Recruit, train, and supervise clinical staff, including ongoing performance reviews and professional development
- Provide clinical consultation and guidance on case planning and care coordination efforts
- Ensure timely documentation of individual, family, and collateral sessions in electronic health records
- Review and approve discharge planning to ensure comprehensive, client-appropriate aftercare plans
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits of clinical documentation and service utilization
- Oversee operational aspects of the department, including budget oversight and strategic planning initiatives
- Partner with outreach and marketing teams to strengthen referral networks and represent the facility in the community
- Offer leadership support to other programs as needed, including program development and crisis response
- Stay informed on industry developments, community needs, and behavioral health policy trends
- May carry a limited caseload if needed
- Lead multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and provide clinical supervision for staff
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and policies that guide therapeutic service delivery
- Maintain compliance with all internal performance improvement initiatives and applicable regulatory standards
- Maintain professional conduct and strict confidentiality at all times
- Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and staff meetings
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the program and organization
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be available for on-call support and clinical emergencies as needed
- Engage in both direct and indirect client care activities as appropriate
- Office-based work with intermittent movement, including sitting, walking, standing, and light lifting (up to 10 pounds)
- Ability to manage competing demands, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
- Tolerance for challenging emotional environments and client crises
EXPECTATIONS
- Demonstrates consistent reliability with attendance and punctuality in accordance with facility policies
- Provides adequate notice for absences and follows facility protocol for time off
- Avoids patterns of unscheduled absences or absences near regular days off
- Returns from breaks and meals within the scheduled timeframe
- Maintains attendance standards that support departmental and organizational needs
